Samara Thadison, a senior at Holyoke High School Dean Tech Campus, is one of two district students to receive a Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents Award. She is a standout student known for her dedication, leadership, and academic excellence.
Physical education and health teacher Cameron Rivest nominated Samara for the award, calling her a "ray of sunshine" and praising her contributions to the Student Ambassador program, where she took on leadership roles and spearheaded fundraising initiatives. “Samara is known for her positive attitude and commitment,” Mr. Rivest said. “She encourages her classmates in physical education and consistently demonstrates professionalism.”
In December, HHS Noth senior Michael Melendez also received a Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents Award.
