Holyoke Public Schools contracts with Sodexo to provide school meals. Sodexo staffs our Food Service Department with more than 60 full and part-time employees who are based in 11 different Holyoke school sites.
Our mission is to provide all HPS students access to nutritious meals and help eliminate student hunger.
All HPS students are eligible to receive free breakfasts and lunches at school through the Community Eligibility Provision of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National School Lunch Program. We also participate in the grant-funded USDA's Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, which allows us to offer our students in grades K-5 a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables such as cantaloupe, fresh strawberries, pineapple, celery sticks, and baby carrots. During the summer months, we provide free meals for all children up to 18 years of age, through our participation in the Summer Food Service Program.
Cafeteria menus are now being shared via Nutrislice, a digital platform that provides a seamless experience so families and students can view daily, weekly and monthly menus. In addition, Nutrislice offers nutritional information for individual menu items along with a filter so users can search menu items based on dietary needs and preferences.
All cafeteria menus can be found on the Nutrislice website. Each school's menu can also be found below:
Nutrislice is available as a downloadable mobile app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. After the app has been downloaded, look for Holyoke Public Schools, and from there, menus can be accessed for each school.
Directions for accessing the Nutrislice mobile app are provided in English and Spanish (PDF).
Holyoke Public Schools is able and willing to provide meal modifications to students who cannot consume the meal components required by the USDA. Please contact your school nurse or the Sodexo Food Service Office with questions about your student's dietary needs.

Families from HPS experiencing food instability can seek assistance from their school's Family and Community Engagement member. By communicating their needs, students or families can receive a bag of essential grocery items every Friday at dismissal. This program is open all year long and is designed to support families over the weekend.
