As we head into the end-of-year holidays, families are reminded of the importance for their children to be in school on time every day that classes are in session.
“We encourage every student to make daily attendance and punctuality a high priority, beginning in kindergarten and all the way through high school,” said HPS Assistant Superintendent Stephen Mahoney. “We know there is a direct correlation between regular school attendance and our students’ overall academic achievement and sense of belonging.”
Families are asked to plan vacations and family get-togethers during scheduled school holidays to help ensure their children avoid missing time at school. Upcoming school holidays include:
Wednesday, November 22 through Friday, November 24, Thanksgiving Break
Monday, December 25 through Monday, January 1, Winter Break
Friday, January 5, Three Kings Day
Monday, January 15, Martin Luther King Day
