School may be out for the summer for many area children, but kids and teens can still receive free healthy meals at no cost at six sites located throughout the community through the district’s “Summer Eats” program. The sites include:
Community Field, 1 Community Field Road, weekdays from 11-11:20 a.m.
Holyoke Hills, 60 Tokeneke Road, weekdays from 11:30-11:50 a.m.
Springdale Park, 844 Main Street, weekdays from 12 noon-12:20 p.m.
Carlos Vega Park, 500 Clemente Street, weekdays from 12:30-12:50 p.m.
Heritage Park, 221 Appleton Street, weekdays 1-1:20 p.m.
Holyoke Public Library, 250 Chestnut Street, weekdays from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Children do NOT need to pre-register and no identification is required to receive free meals.
All meals served at the five park sites will be provided through the district’s new food truck. Watch for its colorful graphics depicting a wide range of fresh fruits and vegetables. Meals provided at Holyoke Public Library will be served outside in front of the library building.
