Free backpack event! 🎒 Join us tomorrow for Safe Neighborhood Initiative’s annual back to school celebration for Holyoke students, featuring free school supplies, activities, food, and a vaccine clinic, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at McNally Field behind Kelly School.

HPS has completed its switchover to the My Ride K-12 bus-tracking software, which was first introduced in the district last spring as part of a transitional phase in. Families are encouraged to learn more about how to use the software and to download the app prior to the start of the school year.

Let's do some math with... games! 🎲 Games are a great way to sharpen your child's math skills while school is out. Some games (which you might already have at home!) that incorporate math include Monopoly, Rummikub, Yahtzee, Sequence Numbers, Tenzi, Phase 10, and Farkle. There are also several fun online resources that your child may have access to with their school login, including Zearn, Prodigy Game, Sumdog, and Splash Math. Attendees, including students, family, and friends, enjoyed a delightful dinner at the award ceremony. To cap off the evening, an ice cream truck made a sweet stop, treating everyone to cool desserts!🍦

She did graduate as planned—AND she was also singled out by Superintendent Anthony Soto in recognition of her hard work throughout the year when he awarded her a Superintendent’s Excellence Award. OA instructional coach Gerardo Orbe nominated Ginellis for this award. “At the start of the school year, Ginellis set a goal to graduate this year. Since then, she has been working very hard at it and has made great progress. She produced some great work, including an interview and profile piece of a relative of hers.”
