Michael Melendez, a senior at Holyoke High School North Campus, is one of two district students to receive a Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (MASS) Award. He is a standout student with an impressive 4.5 GPA who is on track to complete nine Advanced Placement (AP) classes and three college courses before he graduates in June 2025. He has maintained high honor roll status and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Michael is a QuestBridge finalist, which means if matched, he will attend a prestigious college free of charge where he hopes to major in neuroscience. He has served as a volunteer with Camp Jericho, the Holyoke Rotary Club, and Margaret's Pantry. He also works the Holyoke High School concession stands for basketball and soccer home games.
